What if in the midst of all the craziness of 2020 we realized it was never about the fancy party, or the hundreds of guests or the endless details. What if instead it was about peeking out the window of your grandparent’s camp on the lake you grew up swimming in, watching your very closest loved ones arrive and being overcome with the beauty of this moment, five minutes before you promise each other forever and ever. What if this was what it was always about and we just got distracted. Photographing Alexa + Zach was one of the greatest gifts of the year. They are so wildly in love, so kind to each other, so wonderful together and they just get it. 19 years ago I got married in a backyard wedding and I remember going to sleep that night thinking that was the most wonderful day of my life. I have no doubt these two did the same. It was perfect.
